The work

Each piece is assembled by hand from stones gathered a few at a time, so no two are alike and most exist only once. Where a stone is jadeite we say so, we name its treatment grade, and we tell you whether that grade has been independently tested or is our own assessment.

How we describe stones

Every piece lists its materials part by part, not as one word. Where a stone is jadeite we give its treatment grade: Type A means natural jadeite that has not been bleached, impregnated or dyed, and surface waxing is permitted within Type A.Type B has been bleached and impregnated. Type C has been dyed. These grades apply to jadeite only and we never use them for other stones.

Infrared spectroscopy is the only conclusive test for impregnation. Where a piece has not been independently tested we say so rather than claim a grade we cannot prove. If any piece is tested and does not match what we have stated, return it for a full refund at any time.
